Cutie Pie Moment....

From one of our dental assistants - "A patient came to us from China after being adopted by local parents. She is autistic and almost non-verbal, and required alot of work to be done to her teeth. She underwent IV sedation to complete the work, and did very well. When Mom brought her back in for a follow up appointment, she said that the the next day after the procedures were done, her daughter kept pointing at her teeth and saying to her, "I'm so happy!" She had apparently been in pain, but didn't know how to express this to her mother. I was so proud that we were able to alleviate her suffering and leave her with such a positive experience."

Great Job Engel Family!!!

We recently received these Thank You's from the Engel brood - they were AMAZING in Aladin, Jr. and we wanted to congratulate them!!!

ACD Kidz go Global!!!

We recently sponsored one of our patients - Stephanie Bolton - for her trip to China this summer. Here is what we recently received at our office!

"My trip to China was most definitely a life-changing experience, and it wouldn't have been possible without your generosity. Therefore, to thank you once again, I have decided to imform you of some of my expereinces, as well as include some picture that I took while on my trip.

While on my trip, I was offered the opportunity to interact with a native family that lived just outside the Chinese city of Xi'an, by spending the night in their home. This family was very welcoming and through this experience, I was able to learn about the daily lives of the people. The father usually works until sundown and the mother stays home and does the cooking and cleaning. The children's lives are very much like those of the children here in the US. They have school to attend, chores to do, and also enjoy playing cards and running outside.

Another highlight of my tour through China was the climbing of the Great Wall. Although a steep climb up very uneven stairs, I felt like this experience showed me the dedication of the Chinese people to secure their country. Situated literally in the middle of mountains, it would've taken a very long time to build this wall and the physical strength needed to complete this task had to have been insurmountable.

One of my favorite parts of the trip was walking through the city of Wuzhen. Wuzhen is a small, little town that is built completely around the water. I loved the atmosphere of this town, which is shown in one of the pictures. Wuzhen was gorgeous.

Thank you once again for this opportunity! Thanks to you I was able to climb the Great Wall, try Chinese food, meet one of the discoverers of the terr-cotta warriors, see the home of the 2008 Summer Olympics, travel to Victoria's Peak in Hong Kong, and so many other wonderful experiences."

Cutie Pie Moment

This is from one of our dental assistants -

"I had a 3 yr old patient who was a perfect angel, did all the procedures like a seasoned patient, and at the end, as she was leaving, she looked up at me and said, with the cutest lisp, "fank you for helping me keep my teef healfy." My heart melted!"

Rub a Dub Dub....a Baby Spa Tub

The Warmest Baby Bath In Town - I Am Modern

Calling all Daycare Parents!

If you've had your child in daycare, you have probably experienced that process that is LABELING. Daycares make you label EVERYTHING and for good reason! It starts with bottles, which are the worst because of the lack of options. I swear, when my child started in daycare, I would have paid to have her name custom stamped into the plastic so I didn't have to write it with Sharpie, only to have to use Alcohol to wipe it off a week or two later to re-write....quite a process! This solution is great for daycare or even if you have a daycare at your home and are trying to keep all of those sippy cups straight! It's a strechy label so that you don't have to worry about the size of your bottle/cup. For a custom product, I was also surprised to find that it's a reasonable cost to order a pack only of 4 - about $12.95 - awesome solution!!!!

It's a Draw.....

When looking for creative odd's and end's for our office, we ran into this product - which would be awesome for a kid's birthday party, or better yet, a holiday where you'll have a lot of little ones needing their own "kid's table". This cardboard furniture is like a massive 3-D coloring book. It'll keep them busy...that's for sure! And better yet, it can really be used....the chairs claim to hold up to 150 lbs! The set is $49.95 - check out their website at www.colormetables.com
